Eco Safe is a mark of the ICQ group at the service of companies who believe in adherence to increasingly higher standards of quality and safety.
The presence of the brand Eco Safe mark on the garment indicates that the products have been designed in compliance with the chemical and mechanical safety standards, with respect to:
Small parts (choking);
Dangerous strings and drawstrings (strangulation);
Carcinogenic dyestuff (damage to health, including carcinogenic effects);
Allergenic dyestuff (possible sensitization, possible dermatitis, itching, redness of skin);
Phthalates (possible allergic reactions and / or irritation in case of skin contact, possible harmful effects on the reproductive system, liver or kidney damage or damage to the nervous system);
Formaldehyde (possible allergic reactions and / or irritation in case of skin contact);
Heavy metals (possible allergic reactions and / or irritation in case of skin contact, possible nerve damage, possibly carcinogenic).
The risk factors that are taken into account are numerous, even the most careful consumer may underestimate or may not have the skills or the tools to evaluate them. To protect our consumers Benetton provides resources and expertise in order to avoid any potential risk to their health and safety.
In 2011 over 45,000 chemical and physical/mechanical tests were conducted on numerous products. In 2012 controls are doubled; in addiction to those conducted by our suppliers added to these. This effort is essential to obtain the Eco Safe mark on our products in the childrens range (United Colors of Benetton, Undercolors of Benetton, Sisley Young).
